In this episode of Ohio Legends and Tales we spend the night at the famous Ohio State Reformatory, A.K.A. The Mansfield Reformatory. This is part 1 of 2 as the video got a little long and I didn't want to have a video over an hour long. Part 2 is coming out next week!
I have wanted to visit this place and explore it ever since I was a kid. The OSR is supposedly the most haunted prison in the United States, though we did not see or hear anything out of the ordinary during our visit. If you notice something we missed please leave a comment below detailing where in the video you saw/heard something.

The history of the Mansfield Reformatory is fascinating. It opened in 1896 after 10 years of construction and was used as a boys home for the first 30+ years of it's life. Eventually, some of the worst criminals in the state of Ohio were housed here and there were some truly terrifying things that went on.
We are working on planning a return trip in the future and renting the prison out for the night for a small group to do a better investigation. If/when we are able to do that I will let you all know and will plan to release a video of that trip as well.
