With the most recent Salmon Run Next Wave Splatoon 3 trailer, we now have enough footage to understand the basics of all 5 splatoon 3 specials. This includes the Killer Wail 5.1, Zipcaster, Trizooka, Big Bubbler, and Crab Tank. In this video I go over all of them, if they are good game design wise and how good they seem.
What About Tenta Missiles?
Honestly, while at first I thought they were in I don't anymore. The first trailer and OLED one were clearly very early in development, and now that we've seen an inkjet marker be replaced with the Zipcaster one (we know it's from the same weapon) I think they really were a placeholder. Missiles would really contrast with all the other specials and it makes me think returning specials are all tweaked slightly, it's of course still a possibility, but I hope they aren't returning.
Small Crab Tank Note:
We do actually know a bit about its startup, there is a little jump flip animation that goes into the ink before popping out with the Crab Tank, this still seems about the same speed as baller activation so it might not be changed yet but it at least has some starting time.
