Hello Friends! Welcome back! Tonight I have been inspired by some beautiful ceramic pottery in my garden called Talavera. It comes in so many colors and patterns, but my favorite piece is a big Elephant that is dark blue and white. The beautiful swirls and designs reminded me of the very neat Loop de Loop embellishments that I did in my collaboration with Manon Petit Art. I have seen my good friend Fiona do these Loops de loops so beautifully, and my friend Jeremy Masse does some awesome Loops too! Let's get started!

I layer my cup with contrast and pour it into a puddle of 24k Gold. Then I use my stick to draw some lovely swirly Loops thru the rings. I like 90% of it, there is just one section I'm not crazy about, but there is a good chance it will dry very nicely.
I do tilt off some paint so that I don't leave too much on the canvas, but I feel like this piece is a bit busy for my taste. It's challenging to put enough Loop embellishments on the canvas so they show up, but not so many that it looks overdone.
In terms of my Elephant inspiration, it looks nothing like the actual piece but that's ok. Adding the purple and the turquoise changed the color palette dramatically. I still may do a pour using just the Prussian Blue and white and do the Loop de Loops on that, a bit less enthusiastically.
All in all I like this piece, there is a lot of whimsy and a very fun playful energy to it and the colors together are gorgeous.
