The two great north-west clubs meet at Old Trafford on Sunday with United manager Solsjkaer under pressure. United were second to champions Manchester City last season with Liverpool finish fourth. But speaking at lunchtime on Friday Solskjaer said: 'Liverpool are one of the teams we are trying to catch up on, even though last season we were ahead of them maybe because of bad luck with injuries.'
