VENDORS WERE GIVEN A 48 HR ULTIMATUM TO VACATE ON THURSDAY THOUGH IT IS BUSINESS AS USUAL TODAY
The 3D pictures of the new Mbudzi roundabout in Harare circulating on social media will soon become reality with construction work having commenced.
This comes as engineers are already working on detour roads to pave way for the transformation of the roundabout into a modern traffic interchange.
Traffic congestion is the order of the day during peak hours at the Mbudzi roundabout in Harare. However, a dream traffic exchange is on the horizon to bring to an end the nightmares motorists have been experiencing at this busy roundabout.
Confirmation by the cabinet that work is set to resume, was followed by a 48-hour ultimatum by the Harare City Council for traders on the servitudes of the roundabout to remove their structures and there is general compliance confirming that everyone is on board.
“There is congestion almost every day and we hope the flyover is the only solution and we are always late for school due to congestion.”
Contracted engineers have been to the site working on detour roads to ensure the smooth flow of traffic with construction works expected to take up to 12 months.
