How to crochet a rustic pumpkin? Easy with this FREE tutorial and PATTERN that uses only the BASIC crochet stitches that are made in the back loops only.
For this project I am using a 4mm crochet hook in a bright and vibrant orange color cotton yarn. It was from my yarn stash and I lost the label of the yarn..

If you have smaller crochet hook or and thinner / finer yarn or larger hook with thicker yarn the size of this pumpkin can vary.
I used about 40g of yarn for the pumpkin. The base / cast on is 24 chain stitches and that makes the pumpkin approximately 13cm (5inc) wide and the 30 rows make the base rectangle about 26cm (10inc) long.
When assembled together it comes out a bit more then 7cm high (3inc) and 13cm ()5inc wide.
All together it is a decent sized crochet pumpkin.
The US crochet stitch terms used in this pattern are:

◾ sc – single crochet stitch
◾ hdc – half double crochet stitch
◾ dc – double crochet stitch
