Part 9 of 1950s & 1960s British cars in period-original old photos, both black & white and also in colour, is the subject of this classic cars video - a reminder of the motoring scene here in the UK (mainly) during these two decades where old British cars now referred to as classic cars were rarely worth a second glance, so numerous and familiar were they to the population. Of course a few of the old cars featured were special even then, but the majority were just regular modes of transport and largely unremarkable, bought to fulfil a role, that of (hopefully) reliable day-to-day transport. A few are shown a long way away from their original country of build/design, and it's interesting to compare these export market cars with those sold on home soil.
As in the previous uploads in this series, most of the photographs and slides are from my own collection, but several were also kindly supplied by visitors to the Old Classic Car website and this, the related Youtube channel where all manner of classic and vintage cars are to be found. Thanks to everyone who has sent in photos to share in this, and future, uploads, all of which contribute to this look back at the history of British cars in the 1950s and 1960s. If your images haven't made it into this collection, keep an eye out for future collections.

Street scenes and photographs of cars with their owners are a regular feature in these old photos, often what's going on and on display in the background of these old motoring photos is just as interesting as the original subject of the photographer's eye.
