LNG exports from the US fell sharply: an unpleasant surprise for Europe | EU energy crisis

After the shutdown of the Freeport LNG LNG plant, exports of liquefied natural gas from the United States sank sharply. Deliveries fell below last year's figures. Europe will feel the decline in US LNG production in two weeks.

This year, LNG suppliers have become the main source of gas for the European Union. In June, their exports to the EU decreased slightly - to 330 million cubic meters per day. At the same time, Russian gas supplies dropped to 216 million. On the one hand, Gazprom itself restricts exports to the EU, not supplying gas to ruble-denominated refusers and Gazprom Germania, since the Russian government imposed counter-sanctions on the German enterprise. On the other hand, the company's contracts are linked to market quotes and their prices may be higher than current exchange prices.
