I keep seeing headlines about the great resignation, The Great Resignation is a phenomenon that describes record numbers of people leaving their jobs after the COVID-19 pandemic ends. Companies now have to navigate the ripple effects of the pandemic and re-evaluate how to retain talent. I sell employee experience software so I see first hand how important this is to business operations. The reason this matters is because you have more leverage that ever. In order for companies to grow they need to increase headcount & revenue. If you have this skill set then you are super valuable which means you can essentially write your own ticket. If you want to move locations or companies it’s probably a good time to take advantage of this market.

Many of you who watch this channel may be in the job market so I want to discuss the macro picture of job / career market. Everyone needs to work so they feel like they are contributing to society and so they can earn a living. There are three categories of work - a job, a performance based career, building a business. In a job you are trading your time for money or pure salary, in a performance based career you are being paid for performance, building a business means you are growing equity in something that will create you wealth.
