Alec Baldwin claims he is not responsible for Halyna Hutchins' death

Actor Alec Baldwin has rejected claims he was responsible for the death of a crew member on a movie set.

Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was fatally shot during the filming of the movie 'Rust' in New Mexico earlier this year.

In a televised interview, a teary Mr Baldwin said he did not need to check the gun he was given – and he never actually pulled the trigger.

“The notion that there was a live round in that gun did not dawn on me til probably 45 minutes to an hour later,” he said.

“A live round is not supposed to be anywhere near the set.”
