Power system protection is a branch of electrical power engineering that deals with the protection of electrical power systems from faults through the disconnection of faulted parts from the rest of the electrical network. ... The devices that are used to protect the power systems from faults are called protection devices.

This is the lecture of power system protection. This is the lecture 7 of power system protection. power system protection full course will be uploaded onward. The first video explains the introduction to power system protection. in this video, Sequence Circuits and Sequence Impedances are explained. when you have unbalanced three phase system, then we will use symmetrical components. The key idea of symmetrical component analysis is to decompose the system (e.g. phase quantities such as currents and voltages) into three sequence of
balanced networks. a way is explained how to solve unbalance fault analysis. when an unbalanced fault like double line to ground fault occur, our system became unbalanced so the system should be solved using symmetrical components. I explain when line to line (L- L) fault occur how to draw sequence network. you will learn the zero sequence network, positive sequence network and negative sequence network. At the end, an example is solved of Line to line fault.
