In this clip, Energy Circle's Solar Marketing Strategists talk about the search volume increase around solar batteries and electric vehicle charging.
What are the motivators around people increasingly searching for solar batteries and EV charging? We discuss how external triggers are causing an increase in Google searches for solar batteries and EV charging. External triggers such as wildfires, hurricanes, significant natural disasters, and power grid outages are causing homeowners to search for backup power options. We look at national data to see how certain external triggers are acting as a demand driver beyond the regions where the external triggers take place. For example, the power grid outage in Texas in 2021 led to a national spike in searches for solar batteries and EV charging as homeowners looked to take control of their energy and find solutions to keep their power running. As another example, the California public safety power shutoff events—where California and PG&E turn off power for protection during the fire season—also lead to increases in Google searches for solar batteries and EV charging.
