Maignes syndrome is a very common condition that causes pain into the low back, over the sacroiliac joint, into the buttock and sometimes over the lateral hip and groin. This is also so often missed and not as well known as other causes.
Maignes syndrome occurs when a bunch of nerves, primarily the superior cluneal nerves, coming from the upper lumbar spine get irritated on the course towards the low back and buttock region. The most common place for these nerves to become trapped is right over the iliac crest where they pass through a tunnel of fascia.
In this video I go through how you can identify this condition and how it can be very easily treated and very quickly too.
