The Nigerian Super Eagles preparing for a double header Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers was rudely and needlessly embarrassed by the GM of Eko Hotels & Suites.
Eko Hotels is located at the north end of Victoria Island, close to the famous old Bar Beach waterfront that is now the Eko Atlantic City. It is the centre for all major comedy events in the city of Lagos.
The Nigerian Super Eagles had used Eko Hotel and Suites for the previous AFCON qualifiers before this new camp.
On the faithful day, the Super Eagles that are occupying over 40 rooms in the hotel, were out at the gym for their routine fitness exercise. The Eko Hotel GM, claimed that, other occupants of the hotel needs to use the gym. Fact it, the Eagles were only training for 20 minutes and by the number of rooms occupied by the team, the Super Eagles of Nigeria with only 14 players and 6 officials using the gym were well within their rights to occupy the gym for a longer time, based on the number of rooms occupied.
It is unruly and bad customer service for a company in hospitality business to have a general manager that uses curse words on customers no matter the provocation or circumstance. Reports have it that Eko Hotel have apologized to the Nigerian Football Federation and the Super Eagles.
