
The intelligence received by the UK and allies suggested Kabul would not fall this year, and was "clearly" wrong, Dominic Raab has insisted.
During a nearly two-hour session before the foreign affairs committee, he admitted he did not know how many British nationals or eligible Afghans remained in the country, and that it was "early days" in terms of engagement with the Taliban.
The Foreign Secretary faced a barrage of questions about his holiday - which he did not leave until after Kabul fell - but refused to engage with what he called a "fishing expedition".
