Life in the grasslands was just like this when I was a little kid. There was no smart phone, no computer and no video games and the relationship between people were really close. People visit each other very often and they talk to each other face to face.
I still remember when I was a kid, my grandma would ask me these riddles that I took minutes to find the right answers. And she would also tell amazing stories to me. And after I grew up, I just came to realize that behind these amazing riddles and stories, there are the wisdom of Mongolian people. These are also a very important part in our nomadic life. These riddles or stories tell us how to be a decent human being. They tell us we should be nice, kind and generous and all that. Those were the first life lessons we took before we get into school.
But today, almost all of our spare time is wasted on smart phones and some meaningless videos. Today, we seldom take time to think and reflect. And these beautiful and informative activities in our nomadic life is dying away gradually. Although the society is developing so fast, but the relationship between people is gaping wider and wider and some of our beautiful culture or traditions are left behind. Therefore, I wanted to tell people through my video that life could be still fun without smart phones for a while. We can start from smaller things and pick up what we have dropped. Better late than never, right?
