Jimmy from our Family Benefits Advice Service addresses a common myth - that those who are in work are not entitled to any support with childcare. This is something our team of family benefits advisors hear regularly via our helpline and in most cases, it is not true. For most forms of childcare support (Tax-Free Childcare, Tax Credits, Childcare Vouchers and Universal Credit) parents must be working in order to benefit. There are some exceptions - but in most cases, financial support for childcare is only available to parents who are in work.
If you're not sure what support your family is entitled to, contact the Family Benefits Advice Service on Freephone 0800 028 3008 for a personalised 'better off' calculation.
